When the character has a “before” and an “After” we need versions of that character that are “Before” and “After”.

I built a world view based on unattainable ideals. But as much as I choose who I want to be, I must also choose who not to be.

I know what I want to do, but the reality is that I will never get all of it done. If I can really only expect to get 1/3 of it done, how will I decide!
